Is this the new normal? 11 Months, 3 Weeks ago
It's been over a year since the economy started crashing and companies began tightening their belts and shedding jobs. That means plenty of us have economy fatigue. Sadly, this may be the "new" normal for a while?

I'd like to hear about what you are doing in your organization to keep folks motivated and moving forward to achieve the company goals.

Please share your thoughts, ideas and suggestions.

Fortunately enough in the company I work for there have not been any layoffs or major changes in the last year. What I have seen is a lot of growth and change to make the company more productive and have actually seen hiring. One of the biggest changes that has happened in our local division is the inception of an employee run committee focused on employee satisfaction. We have been busy going over the last year and communicating all of the postive changes that have been made within the company. There have been quite a few. I think that sometimes this needs to be communicated to those who don't always see the changes in the foreground. Hopefully there are other companies out there doing the same thing. Keeping employees happy and productive makes a company grow not fall apart.

Thanks for chiming in Lisa. That is really good news. Way too often we forget to celebrate and focus on what's happening to help the organization. It's good to hear what you are doing.

Let me start of by saying that i feel your pain, I've been down that road before.
what actually worked for me was an implementation of weekly self help sessions. each section is designed to energize the team, to make the group more effective.
you wight want to look into some self help gurus such as:
Stephan Covey
Napoleon Hill
Dale Carnegie
Robert Kiyosaki

I hope this information is valuable and useful to you.

Hello friend,
Recession is really a tough time for all of us whether it is for employees or for a company.
We also faced this tough time but I and my coworkers along with our boss planned some tips to make our junior especially new comers stress free.We tried to keep them
remain motivated, determined, and inspired. My boss always says that importance of employee engagement cannot be overstated especially during difficult time.
We tried to create an atmosphere where employees think and act like small business owners. We did this by designing as much decision-making authority and tried to maintain flexibility into their jobs according to their skill, experience, and maturity level and left them to solve their own problems, rather than always being the Answer Guy.

Regards,
Nelson
